How you would go about playing a 15 minute set at a dj competition?
Could give me some other points to take into account when making the switch from vinyl to CD?
I am getting to the stage in my mixing were I would like too be able to explore different aspects... What styles would you recommend for scratching?

What you do and other DJs do to protect their ears? The SPL at clubs are soooo loud and i just don't want to be another Franke Wilde cus I can’t dj deaf! The obvious things like turning down the monitors etc. but what about custom earplugs? Do you personally use them at gigs? I find mixing with them in is like learning how to mix all over again.
You started dj'ing by promoting and dj'ing parties in your neighbourhood, what advice would you give an up and coming dj on how to get a venue to do this?

I've always wondered how you get through all the tracks you get sent. You say you get sent 300 odd promos a week, how and where do you listen to these? Do you have to burn them all to cds? do you separate all the different genres and how many times do you listen to each track before you realise you like it or not??
